Stayed here in July 2023 and when my sister suggested a trip to Providence, I knew exactly where I wanted to spend a couple nights! This hostel is so clean, so cozy, so welcoming. John is the perfect host. Location is decent, and there is driveway parking for an extra $10/night, making it an easy trip. You can walk into town so easily, and if you don’t know what to do in town? Just look at the board in the common room! We give it 2 thumbs up!! 👍👍 And if we had more thumbs, there would be more!

I stayed in the private room for several nights during this summer and probably spent more time in the room than the average guest. I have no complaints and am very satisfied. The facilities made me feel like i was staying in a friend's guestroom, complete with a full kitchen including fridge and freezer for storing my own food. The staff was always helpful, central Providence is in walking distance, and the laundromat is less than a minute from the door, which is great for both short and long term stays. The only thing i can imagine being a deal breaker for some is that during warm summers one you practically has to sleep with the AC on. I can't blame the hostel for the weather though and i consider this hostel my first choice for future stays in the city.

The owner and on-site manager were fantastic. Any questions or concerns I had were addressed and resolved swiftly which was extremely appreciated. The hostel's location was also fantastic. It was a short walk away from downtown Providence which made its accessibility a treat. The hostel itself was nice and comfortable. There was a lot of different pots and pans to use to cook with that made it nice to eat in when I didn't want to eat out. Being able to relax in the living room space was nice as well. Overall, I would recommend this hostel if your looking to explore Providence.

Best stay I could have imagined in Providence! Owner John is a super sweet guy and could not be doing Providence more right than by having a place like this. He also has a wonderful volunteer, Aurora, working with him as of July 2025! Having stayed in hostels across more than 50 nations and numerous other US states, it is sometimes difficult to find a place this meticulously cleaned, helpful in terms of travel advice posted around the stay, safe-feeling, close to relevant public transportation, and close to desirable tourist sights of the city. Not to mention, there is no place ever available in the entire area that has all that to offer at the incredible price John offers his stay. It’s a backpacker’s haven in one of the least expected cities! Thanks, John! (Not pictured: the beautiful common-area kitchen and living-room spaces, the spacious bedrooms with super comfortable beds and high-quality AC, and the very detailed whiteboards with super interesting and helpful travel info!)

Convenient, very clean, attentive and helpful staff. Nice view of the beautiful capital building as you walk towards downtown Providence. Had a great stay, Elina and John were amazing hosts!

It was such a pleasure to stay at Providence Hostel! The owner is lovely and we had lovely conversations with her and other guests. I highly recommend this hostel for the great vibes, peaceful atmosphere, and excellent location.

Wow, Alina and her team worked so hard to accommodate us! We were a large group of middle school students, and she was in touch with us for months to orchestrate details to make our stay as comfortable as possible. She bought new items just for our stay, had good recommendations for activities to do and places to eat, and was extremely available to be as helpful as possible during our night in Providence. So grateful to this place, so glad we were able to stay here!!

If I could leave more than a 5 star review I would. My time at the Providence Hostel and Guesthouse was truly a heartwarming experience. Not only did I have great conversations with all of my roommates, but I also spent an extended and personal amount of time with the Owner Alina and her daughter. There were also different accommodation options if you preferred to have your own room. I had such a delightful time in the facilities as well. The common area was a fantastic space to work, study, play games, rest, and also chat with other guests. The kitchen and bathrooms provided everything I needed. I had fantastic Vietnamese and Mexican food in the surrounding block, and all the sights and action of Providence were a short walk away. 10/10 will stay here again. Thank you Alina for everything.
